From Brno offices to mountain ridges
My name is Karel Polívka and together with my wife Lucka, we have been running Friesovy boudy since 2012. Before that, I worked for a trading company in Brno and Lucka was an optician. For years, I felt that “this wasn’t it”.
When the opportunity came to give hotels in the Krkonoše Mountains a new face, one visit was enough and the decision was made. We have experienced everything in the mountains. The biggest test came in 2018 when I was hit by a car while running. I fought for my life, but we did not give up.
